IBM Research created the Think Lab in order to break the mold in the standard client engagement: death by powerpoint in a cold conference room. At the center of the worldwide Think Labs is a custom application we call the Index. The Index is host to interactive presentations called Stories.
The Index is a custom web-based application with a suite CMS tools. During the 2 years I have worked with the Think Lab, the Index has been iterated and improved upon many times. Alongside another user experience designer, we work to continuously test and improve usability of the system, create style guides and templates for worldwide teams, and push the boundaries by adding new web-based functionality.
Stories are composed of multiple sections including slides, videos, images, HTML, and web links. Since all stories based on this three-screen concept, the sections may be moved screen to screen. The story demonstrated below is a recent story I created for Project Debater. This story does a great job to demonstrate how these stories are carefully crafted to cater to multiple audiences such as C-suite executives, technical staff, and student groups.
